Preventing Career-Ending Injuries for Dancers!  

In this course, we will address preventing injuries that can pause, slow down, or even END a dancer’s career. Our dance teams ARE Athletes! With an outline of how most dance injuries occur, we will begin to develop strength and conditioning programs to avoid these injuries. While some injuries are out of our control due to congenital issues or accidents, many injuries can be avoided with proper proactive training. Learn strength training that directly prepares our dancers for their choreography.   

 3 Learning Objectives: 

  1. What is causing Dancers’ Injuries? We will address the cause of dancers’ injuries that are in our control. 

  2. What are the most common Dancer injuries? We will specify the most common injuries in dancers directly related to the causes in #1. 

  3. Proactive Strength Training. You will learn how to proactively address these injuries and train specifically to avoid those injuries that are in your control.
