The Knee—Clear as Mud!

Through examples of personal training case studies, you will learn to work within your scope of practice as a Certified Personal Trainer to help your clients AVOID or RECOVER from typical Runner’s Knee. When is it time to refer out to a Doctor or Physical Therapist? We will also gain a basic understanding of the total knee replacement (TKR) process and how we can help prepare a client for an impending TKR surgery going in with the best possible chance for a positive recovery. It is a privilege to collaborate and work alongside a Physical Therapist to graduate a client out of Physical Therapy and into Personal Training and complete health and recovery! Personal Trainers can make a difference.

 Learning Objectives:

  1. Within the Scope of Practice, you will develop an understanding of the Runner’s Knee and help your client find relief.

  2. You will gain basic knowledge of TKR/TKA and how to bridge pre and post-surgery to complete health. 

  3. Identify exercises to strengthen the supporting muscles and joints to gain total knee health.
